Are you an experienced Plumbing and Gas professional looking to move into a rewarding education role? This is an excellent opportunity to support the next generation of Plumbing and Gas engineers by coaching apprentices throughout their journey and helping them successfully achieve their End Point Assessment.

The Role
As a Technical Skills Coach, you'll manage a caseload of Plumbing and Gas apprentices, supporting them both in the workplace and remotely. You'll work closely with employers to ensure apprentices remain on track, monitoring progress, delivering reviews and providing coaching that develops their skills, knowledge and behaviours.
The role includes:
  • Managing a caseload of Plumbing & Gas apprentices from enrolment through to Gateway and End Point Assessment.
  • Conducting progress reviews every 10–12 weeks with apprentices and employers.
  • Coaching and mentoring learners to achieve apprenticeship standards.
  • Monitoring off-the-job training and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
  • Using e-portfolios, Microsoft Teams and college systems to track learner progress.
  • Building strong relationships with employers and supporting them throughout the apprenticeship journey.
  • Working collaboratively with curriculum teams and apprenticeship colleagues to ensure excellent learner outcomes.
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally have:
  • Level 3 Plumbing & Heating qualification.
  • Gas qualifications including CCN1 and CENWAT.
  • Assessor Award (CAVA/A1) or willingness to achieve it.
  • Experience supporting apprentices, learners or workplace training.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital learning platforms.
  • A passion for developing future talent within the construction industry.
