Our client who is one of the UK’s fastest growing fast-fit automotive business, are looking for a Technical Training Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Retail Training and Apprenticeships, as the Technical Training Manager you be in charge of all automotive technical training across the UK. This will be a mix off in house training as well as external training providers, creating new ways of working to ensure best practise is always followed.

To be applicable for the Technical Training Manager position, you must have experience working within the Automotive industry and have a strong background within training/development.

This role is 80% from home and 20% working across the uk delivering training.

Location: Anywhere in the UK
Pay / salary: Basic: £45,000 - £52,000 + £10,000 OTE
Shift and schedule: 08.30 to 17.30 Monday to Friday

Technical Training Manager Responsibilities:
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve the technical training curriculum (MOT, EV/High-Voltage, diagnostics, service & repair, new model launches, etc.) aligned to retail operating model
  • Work in partnership with Retail Operations to identify technical skill gaps and priority interventions
  • Develop train-the-trainer capability to build confidence and consistency in delivery
  • Manage the relationship with Delphi Academy and any third-party technical training providers
  • Measure and report on technical training impact (e.g., reduction in come-backs, improved MOT pass rates, faster diagnostic times)
  • Oversee train-the-trainer programmes so Regional Training Partners can deliver in-centre technical training confidently (e.g., Quality Checks)
 
To be a Technical Training Manager you will need:
  • Strong technical background as a vehicle technician / mechanic with proven diagnostic and repair experience
  • Proven experience in designing, delivering, and managing technical training programmes in an automotive or engineering environment
  • Experience with EV / high-voltage systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)
  • Demonstrable success in improving workshop KPIs (e.g., first-time fix, productivity, quality metrics) through training interventions
  • Solid understanding of health & safety requirements in technical/workshop environments
  • Continuous improvement experience in a workshop setting
  • Excellent communicator who can engage technical and non-technical audiences
  • Have a passion for the Automotive industry
  • Valid UK driving licence – Essential

They have over 180 centres within the UK and are actively growing, they are known for their strong national presence, modern service centres and commitment to customer care. They are looking to have over 300 centres within the next 3 years.  
They offer a wide range of services including tyres, MOTs, servicing and repairs, supported by their ongoing large investment in training, technology and centre development.
