Technologist – Ethical Focus
Location: Paddock Wood
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Contract: Maternity Cover (with potential to become permanent)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
About the Role
Our Client is seeking a Technologist – Ethical Focus to join their Technical team on a 12-month maternity cover contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent. The ideal start date is between early and mid-October to allow a full handover before maternity leave commences in November.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in managing grower due diligence and ethical compliance activities, acting as the critical link between global supply partners and customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fresh produce, quality assurance, or technical experience who is looking to develop their expertise within a dynamic and growing sector.
You will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and presenting technical and compliance data, helping ensure customer and third-party requirements are met while supporting continuous improvement and ethical sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage grower due diligence and compliance documentation.
- Collate, analyse, and present technical and performance data.
- Support ethical compliance and customer requirements throughout the supply chain.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and customers.
- Assist with innovation and R&D projects, including sustainability initiatives, packaging solutions, and product development.
- Support category leadership through data-driven insights and reporting.
- Contribute to the implementation of technical projects and compliance improvements.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting using Microsoft Excel and other systems.
About You
- Experience within fresh produce, technical, quality assurance, or compliance environments.
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret customer and third-party requirements.
- Proactive, inquisitive, reliable, and eager to learn.
- Good IT and Health & Safety knowledge.
