Environment: Innovative, collaborative and purpose-led company with a genuine investment in employee wellbeing and learning & development. You'll join a small Technology team where your ideas will make a real difference, helping to shape how technology is delivered across the business.

Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone currently working within a Charity, Membership Organisation or similar Not-for-Profit organisation who is looking for a senior, hands-on delivery role where they can make a genuine impact.

Working across Operations and Technology, you'll act as a key link between the business, engineers, analysts and third-party suppliers, taking ownership of delivery and ensuring work continues to move forward. You'll be someone who can look across a number of projects and priorities, understand what needs attention and take action without needing to be given every step.

This is a role for someone who naturally creates momentum, enjoys bringing people together and is comfortable taking ownership of ambiguous or complex problems. You'll help the existing Technology team work more cohesively, coordinate activity across different areas and ensure projects, change and BAU services continue to progress.

You'll also need to understand the bigger picture behind technology delivery. Rather than simply managing plans and timelines, you'll be interested in the why, helping stakeholders get from the initial problem through to the right solution and successful outcome.

You'll thrive in a collaborative, small-team environment where everyone contributes beyond their job title and where you can use your judgement, initiative and delivery experience to make a real difference.

If you're someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, bringing clarity to complexity and naturally looks for ways to take work forward, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Service Delivery

  • Manage a portfolio of technology projects, business change initiatives and BAU services, ensuring priorities, timelines, risks and dependencies are effectively managed. Working closely with engineers, analysts and business stakeholders, you'll understand what needs to happen, keep work moving, identify risks and remove blockers to ensure successful delivery.
  • You'll take ownership of delivery activity and proactively coordinate the people and tasks involved, ensuring different pieces of work come together effectively. You'll also assess change requests that fall outside normal BAU support, helping determine the most appropriate solution and whether the work should be delivered internally or through third-party suppliers.

Delivery & Process Improvement

  • Review and improve existing ways of working, introducing practical Agile and delivery processes that help the team work more effectively. Improve visibility of work, facilitate planning and sprint sessions, coordinate priorities and create greater transparency across projects and BAU activity.
  • You'll bring structure where there is ambiguity, while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy, helping the team develop a more collaborative and pragmatic approach to delivery.

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a key link between Operations and Technology, working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, senior operational stakeholders and the Infrastructure & Security Manager. Facilitate workshops, explore business problems, coordinate priorities and help stakeholders and technical teams work towards the right solution.

Team Collaboration & Momentum

  • Help bring together colleagues working across different projects and objectives, ensuring dependencies are understood and activity continues to move forward. Build strong working relationships across the Technology function and encourage effective collaboration, communication and knowledge sharing.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working within a Charity, Membership Organisation or Not-for-Profit organisation (essential)
  • Degree educated
  • Proven experience managing multiple technology, digital or software delivery projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the ability to apply them pragmatically to suit the needs of the team
  • Experience working closely with engineers, analysts, business stakeholders and third-party technology suppliers
  • Comfortable facilitating workshops, bringing people together and helping teams work through complex business problems
  • Strong experience taking ownership of delivery and working independently without requiring detailed direction
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience coordinating multiple workstreams, managing dependencies and keeping delivery moving when there are blockers or competing priorities
  • Experience improving delivery processes and ways of working within a team or organisation
  • Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts and apply them without needing to be a deep technical specialist
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the confidence to identify what needs doing and take it forward
  • Experience working across the full technology delivery lifecycle, from understanding the business need through to development, testing and implementation

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering data migration, CRM, data-intensive or system change projects
  • Experience delivering digital, software development or web-based technology projects
  • Previous technical background or strong experience working closely with engineering and development teams
  • Experience managing complex changes within live technology environments, including coordinating development, testing, sequencing and implementation
  • Experience with SAP and/or SQL
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft 365, Miro or Zoho
  • Experience working within a small, growing organisation where flexibility, adaptability and a hands-on approach are essential

This is an opportunity to join a genuinely purpose led company where you'll have the autonomy to shape delivery, influence how technology supports the wider business and become a trusted partner to senior stakeholders.

We're looking for someone who can see what needs to happen, bring the right people together and make it happen, someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do and who can create momentum across a busy Technology function.
