Telecoms Infrastructure Design Engineer

£300-£350 per day | Outside IR35 | Initial 3-Month Contract | Highly Extendable

We're looking for an experienced Telecoms Infrastructure Design Engineer to support the planning and design of infrastructure build activities across a large-scale network estate.

This is an initial 3-month contract, but the requirement is expected to extend and offers a strong long-term opportunity for the right person.

What you'll be doing

• Producing detailed infrastructure designs, drawings and build-ready design packs
• Supporting HLD/LLD and site-specific infrastructure design
• Reviewing requirements around fibre routing, power, cooling, space and environmental constraints
• Supporting infrastructure and capacity planning
• Ensuring survey data, drawings and technical documentation are accurate and complete
• Working within established engineering standards and design governance
• Supporting design reviews and QA/QC
• Working closely with Architecture, Deployment, Operations, Property, Power and Supply Chain teams

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have experience within telecoms or large-scale network infrastructure, with a background covering several of the following:

• Network and/or fibre infrastructure design
• HLD/LLD and detailed design documentation
• Infrastructure and capacity planning
• CAD/design tools and technical drawings
• Site surveys and interpreting site layouts
• Fibre, power, data centre or wider physical infrastructure
• Infrastructure build, deployment and commissioning
• Design standards, governance and change control

You'll need strong attention to detail, a structured approach to problem-solving and the ability to work effectively across multiple technical and delivery teams.
