We are seeking an experienced and reliable telehandler driver to join a busy team on a major commercial construction project in York. This is an ongoing contract position offering long-term stability and consistent hours for the right candidate.

Working closely with the site management team, you will be responsible for keeping the project moving efficiently by safely managing, unloading, and distributing materials to various commercial sub-contractors across the development.



Responsibilities:

  • Operating a telescopic handler safely and efficiently on a busy, live commercial site.
  • Unloading deliveries, checking materials against manifests, and storing them correctly.
  • Supplying various trades and sub-contractors with heavy materials, structural components, and equipment as needed.
  • Assisting the Site Manager with material management and keeping compound areas tidy.
  • Carrying out essential daily vehicle safety checks and maintaining the operator logbook.
  • Strict adherence to site-specific health and safety regulations, speed limits, and pedestrian segregation zones.


Our Requirements:

  • Valid CPCS or NPORS Card (with Telescopic Handler category).
  • Strong, proven experience operating a telehandler on commercial construction sites.
  • Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, and steel toe cap boots).
  • A safety-conscious approach with excellent spatial awareness around heavy plant machinery, structures, and site personnel.
  • Excellent punctuality, reliability, and clear communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence .
  • Easy access to the York area for prompt morning starts.
