Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Site Supervisor to join a specialist trash screen project in Lower Conham Vale, Bristol.

Our client is an established contractor specialising in civil engineering, groundworks, bespoke housing, surveying and drainage projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil Site Supervisor with a background in civil engineering, water infrastructure, drainage or environmental works to join an established contractor on an important infrastructure project.

The Role

As Civil Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day site activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with project drawings, specifications and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising day-to-day site activities and site personnel.
  • Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site operatives.
  • Supervising civil engineering, drainage and associated construction works.
  • Ensuring works are completed safely and to the required quality standards.
  • Reading and working from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Monitoring progress and reporting any issues or delays to the Site Manager / Project Manager.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections and ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
  • Ensuring all works comply with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Assisting with site documentation, permits, records and daily reports.
  • Liaising with engineers, subcontractors and the wider project team.
  • Ensuring site activities remain on programme and identifying potential issues at an early stage.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience working as a Civil Site Supervisor / General Foreman / Assistant Site Manager.
  • Strong experience within civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on water, drainage, environmental or similar civil engineering projects would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
  • A strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • SSSTS - essential.
  • CSCS - appropriate to the role.
  • First Aid - desirable.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to site supervision and problem solving.
