Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and passionate accessibility tester to join our core digital engineering team. You will champion inclusive design, ensuring that ITV’s flagship streaming platforms, apps, and broadcast websites are fully accessible to all audiences. You will work within agile pods to embed accessibility early in the software development life cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit & Compliance: Conduct comprehensive manual and automated testing of web, mobile (iOS/Android), and Connected TV (CTV) apps against WCAG 2.2 AA standards.
  • Assistive Tech Verification: Perform hands-on testing using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack) and keyboard-only navigation.
  • Defect Lifecycle: Log, track, and retest accessibility bugs in JIRA, providing clear, actionable remediation guidance to software engineers and UI/UX designers.
  • Tooling & Automation: Integrate automated accessibility tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse) into CI/CD pipelines to catch early-stage issues.
  • Stakeholder Enablement: Act as a subject matter expert (SME), training product owners, developers, and designers on inclusive design best practices.

Essential Skills

  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated digital accessibility testing experience.
  • Standards: Deep, practical understanding of WCAG guidelines, WAI-ARIA standards, and UK/EU accessibility regulations.

Tech Stack

Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript to analyse code-level accessibility failures. Empathy-Driven Testing: Experience working alongside users with disabilities or conducting user-centric accessibility feedback sessions.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Ofcom accessibility requirements for broadcast/VoD (Video on Demand) services.
  • Experience testing on Smart TVs (Samsung Tizen, LG WebOS, Roku, Fire TV).
