Our client is looking for a practical, motivated Test Facilities Assistant to join their Operations team and play an important role in supporting a busy technical testing environment.
This is a varied, hands-on position where you will work alongside experienced Test Technicians, helping to prepare test facilities, install equipment, maintain the site and ensure testing projects run efficiently and safely. No two days are the same, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, problem solving and working as part of a collaborative technical team.
You will receive full training and have the opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist testing environment, with opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist with the installation, preparation and dismantling of test rigs, equipment and testing facilities.
• Support Test Technicians with the smooth delivery of testing programmes.
• Carry out general labouring duties including moving materials, stock, test samples and equipment.
• Assist with the construction and demolition of temporary test structures and walls.
• Help operate specialist test rigs and equipment following training.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across workshops, storage areas, yards and testing facilities.
• Support general site maintenance and facilities activities.
• Carry out basic maintenance of equipment and report any faults or defects.
• Operate a Forklift Truck where appropriately trained and licensed.
• Work safely at all times, following company procedures and Health & Safety legislation.
• Assist with risk assessments and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.

The Person
• Experience in a hands-on environment such as engineering, manufacturing, construction, maintenance or facilities.
• Good practical and DIY skills.
• The ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• A good understanding of Health & Safety practices.
• A full UK driving licence (essential).
• Forklift Truck licence (desirable but not essential).
