About the Role
We're looking for an experienced engineering leader to manage our Test & Integration function, leading the successful introduction of new products into manufacturing.
This is a varied leadership role combining technical oversight, CAPEX project delivery and people management. Working closely with R&D, Production, Quality and Supply Chain, you'll ensure new products are successfully industrialised, manufacturing capability is in place, and your engineering team is equipped to deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Test & Integration function, providing technical leadership across NPI and manufacturing readiness.
- Manage, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototype through to production.
- Plan and deliver CAPEX projects for manufacturing test equipment and production capability.
- Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and suppliers to support product industrialisation.
- Monitor departmental KPIs including quality, yield, throughput and delivery.
- Lead continuous improvement, risk management and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support audits and ensure manufacturing processes meet quality and compliance standards.
About You
You'll be an experienced engineering manager with a strong background in manufacturing, industrial engineering, test engineering or product industrialisation.
You'll ideally have experience of:
- Leading engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) and manufacturing readiness.
- Manufacturing test, integration or production engineering.
- Delivering CAPEX projects involving manufacturing equipment or facilities.
- Working cross-functionally with R&D, Production, Quality and Supply Chain.
- Driving continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Electronic or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Previous experience managing engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product industrialisation.
- Excellent leadership, project management and stakeholder management skills.
Industry Experience
Experience in high-technology manufacturing environments such as electronics, photonics, optical communications, aerospace, defence, telecommunications, medical devices or precision engineering would be advantageous.
