Test Technician

Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum

Location: Reading

Hours: 8.30am until 5pm (with flexible start/finish time).

ReeVR Talent are looking for a Test Technician to join our client’s manufacturing facility in Reading. Working alongside the Production Engineering team, you will be responsible for the assembly, testing and calibration of complex electro-mechanical products.

This Test Technician position is a hands on role where you will build products to defined standards before carrying out testing and calibration to ensure they meet the required quality and performance criteria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex electro-mechanical products in line with SOPs and specifications.
  • Carry out testing, calibration and configuration of production equipment and devices.
  • Perform in-process and final testing against defined acceptance criteria.
  • Accurately record test and calibration results against product serial numbers.
  • Maintain calibration records and support the control of production test equipment.
  • Install and verify software and firmware during assembly and testing.
  • Investigate faults and support repair and rework of failed or returned products.
  • Identify and report non-conforming products through the relevant quality processes.
  • Write, update and improve SOPs, work instructions and test procedures.
  • Support goods-in inspection and ensure components meet the required acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality and Logistics teams to resolve issues.

We are looking for a Test Technician with:

  • Hands-on experience in assembly and testing of electro-mechanical products.
  • Experience with test, calibration and measurement equipment.
  • Good fault-finding and debugging skills across mechanical and electronic assemblies.
  • The ability to follow and improve test procedures, SOPs and acceptance criteria.
  • Experience installing and verifying software or firmware.
  • Comfortable using basic command-line tools and computer-based test systems.
  • An understanding of calibration, traceability and quality requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • A practical, methodical approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
