About the role
Sirona Medical is recruiting experienced Theatre HCAs for a range of NHS hospital Insourcing contracts across Scotland. You'll support the theatre team through the whole perioperative pathway, helping to deliver safe and efficient patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Assignments may include weekend cover in theatres, endoscopy, decontamination and day surgery units.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing theatres, equipment and instruments before, during and after procedures
- Helping move and position patients safely, using correct manual handling techniques
- Supporting scrub, anaesthetic and recovery teams as directed
- Restocking and checking theatre supplies and consumables
- Following infection prevention and control standards at all times
- Taking patients to and from wards, recovery and theatre
- Keeping accurate records in line with local policy
- At least 6 months' NHS experience as a Theatre HCA (essential)
- Good knowledge of theatre etiquette, sterile fields and infection control
- A current PVG scheme membership, or willingness to apply
- Up-to-date mandatory training (BLS, manual handling, infection control, safeguarding)
- Right to work in the UK
- Two recent clinical references, including one from an NHS theatre manager or supervisor
- Flexibility to travel to sites across Scotland
- Endoscopy or decontamination experience is an advantage
- £225 - £250 per day, depending on site and experience
- Weekends Only
- A dedicated consultant who knows the contracts
