We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established, child-focused nursery in Beaconsfield for a Third in Charge to support the day-to-day running of the nursery while helping to lead and inspire a dedicated team of Early Years practitioners.

The Role

As Third in Charge, you will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure the nursery operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager with the daily operation of the nursery.
  • Leading by example and promoting outstanding childcare and education in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Supporting, mentoring and motivating practitioners to deliver high-quality practice.
  • Acting as Room Leader where required and providing leadership across the nursery.
  • Ensuring children's learning, development and wellbeing remain at the heart of everything you do.
  • Monitoring children's progress and supporting staff with observations, assessments and learning journeys.
  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
  • Assisting with staff deployment to ensure appropriate ratios are maintained.
  • Promoting a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Supporting safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance with Ofsted requirements and nursery policies.
  • Assisting with staff inductions, coaching and ongoing professional development.
  • Helping maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation throughout the nursery.
Requirements
  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years is essential.
  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early years setting.
  • Experience supporting or supervising staff is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A positive, proactive and professional approach.
  • Passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.

Based in Beaconsfield, the nursery benefits from excellent transport links, close proximity to the train station and convenient access via the M40.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
