Support Worker, Tunbridge Wells, TN3. Fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Support Worker to assist a bright and engaging 5-year-old boy with cerebral palsy. Flexible part-time hours are available, supporting Andrew at home and in the community. £18.50 Gross per Hour Weekdays | £20.00 Gross per Hour Weekends.
- Nearest Station: Not easily accessible by public transport. A driver with access to a vehicle is essential.

- Driving Requirements: Yes, a driver with their own car to travel to and from the family home. Automatic WAV is available for use on duty.
- Essential: Professional child care experience

- Start Date: ASAP
- Days & Hours: Part-time position. Two after-school weekday shifts, 2.30pm to 8.30pm (days to be mutually agreed) One weekend shift, either Saturday 9.30am to 3.30pm or Sunday from 8.30am to 2.30pm. Additional hours may be available during school holidays, this is optional.

About the Client Meet Andrew, a fun-loving, inquisitive and active 5-year-old who enjoys swimming, reading, music, arts and crafts, imaginative play and exploring new experiences. Andrew lives at home with his loving family near Tunbridge Wells and attends a mainstream primary school. Andrew has cerebral palsy which impacts his mobility and everyday functioning. He uses a wheelchair and walker and requires support with all personal care needs, mobility, activities of daily living and therapy programmes. Despite these challenges, Andrew is determined, sociable and eager to engage with the world around him. His family are committed to helping him achieve his full potential and remain actively involved in all aspects of his care and development.
The Role at a Glance As Andrew's Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping him access activities both at home and within the community while supporting his development and independence. The role includes collecting Andrew from school using his wheelchair accessible vehicle, supporting with personal care, mobility, therapy programmes and facilitating fun, meaningful activities tailored to his interests. You will work closely with Andrew's parents, therapists, multidisciplinary team and Case Manager to ensure consistency across his support plan and rehabilitation goals. This is the first time Andrew will have dedicated support outside of his family network, making this a unique opportunity to help shape and develop a rewarding long-term role.
This Job Would Suit An energetic, patient and proactive person who enjoys working with children and is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential. Previous experience in manual handling is not essential as full training will be provided; a positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to making a difference are what matter most. You will be confident in working with children, able to build positive relationships, and enthusiastic about supporting Andrew to develop his independence, confidence and life skills. A driver with their own car to travel to and from the family home is essential.
