About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker / Grinder to join our clients busy engineering team in Ash Vale. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled manual/CNC machinist or toolroom engineer with a strong background in precision grinding to work within a well-established manufacturing environment.

Working a 39-hour week with an early finish every Friday, you'll be responsible for producing high-quality precision components to exact customer specifications while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Surface grinding
• Cylindrical grinding
• Bore/Internal grinding
• Ring grinding
• Honing
• Working to fine tolerances
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Using precision measuring equipment to inspect finished components
• Working independently and as part of a team
• Meeting production schedules and customer deadlines while maintaining quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Experience as a manual/CNC machinist, toolmaker or toolroom engineer
• Strong grinding experience across a range of precision grinding processes
• The ability to work to tight tolerances
• Confidence reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment
• A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
• The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team
• This position would suit someone who is apprentice trained or has gained equivalent qualifications through extensive hands-on experience in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

What's on Offer

• Competitive salary of £33,000 - £39,000, depending on experience
• 39-hour working week
• Early finish every Friday (1:15pm)
• Overtime available:
• Weekdays paid at 1.3x basic hourly rate
• Weekends paid at 1.5x basic hourly rate
• 25 days' annual leave, with some holidays taken during the Christmas shutdown
