Salary: £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Working arrangement: On-site



The role

We are looking for an experienced Toolmaker to join a busy engineering team in Worcester.

You'll be working on the manufacture, fitting, assembly and repair of specialist tooling used in a high-precision manufacturing environment.

The role is hands-on and varied. You'll be making and modifying tooling, putting components together, carrying out checks and helping to fix any problems that come up during testing or production.

This would suit someone who enjoys practical engineering work, is comfortable working to tight measurements and can look at a problem and work out how to fix it.



What you'll be doing

  • Making and assembling different types of tooling
  • Working from engineering drawings and models
  • Using normal toolroom equipment and machinery
  • Fitting and adjusting precision components
  • Carrying out bench work, polishing, grinding and drilling
  • Checking parts and finished tools are made correctly
  • Finding and fixing problems with tooling
  • Helping with testing and setting up new tools
  • Repairing and making changes to existing tooling
  • Working with other engineering teams when changes are needed
  • Feeding back any issues or improvements
  • Keeping the work area safe, tidy and organised


About you

You'll ideally have:

  • Good experience working as a Toolmaker or similar
  • A background in engineering, toolmaking or precision manufacturing
  • Strong hands-on fitting and assembly skills
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Experience working with tight tolerances
  • Experience making, repairing or modifying tooling
  • A basic understanding of machining and toolroom processes
  • Experience using measuring equipment
  • A practical approach to solving problems
  • Good attention to detail and quality
  • The ability to work both on your own and with a team

Experience working with moulds, dies, press tools or other specialist tooling would be useful, but isn't essential.
