Canterbury | £35,000-£45,000 DOE + benefits

Are you a Town Planner with a few years' experience looking for your next opportunity in Kent?
We're working with an ambitious and growing planning consultancy based in Canterbury, who are looking to bring an experienced Town Planner into their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step in their career, work on a varied portfolio of projects and have genuine responsibility for delivering planning advice to clients.
The consultancy works with a diverse range of landowners, developers, businesses and public-sector clients, providing commercially focused planning advice across residential, commercial, agricultural, education and other sectors.

As a Town Planner, you'll be involved across the full planning process, working closely with clients, colleagues, local planning authorities and other consultants.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Preparing and submitting planning applications and pre-application enquiries.
·Undertaking site appraisals and providing planning advice to clients.
·Assisting with planning appeals and representations.
·Advising on permitted development and lawful development matters.
·Supporting clients with planning enforcement issues.
·Assisting with the promotion of land through the planning system.
·Liaising with local authorities, consultants and other stakeholders.
·Managing your own caseload while contributing to wider team projects.
About You
We're looking for a planner with a few years' experience, ideally gained within a planning consultancy, who is ready to take on greater responsibility.
You'll ideally have:
·A degree in Town Planning or a closely related discipline.
·Around 2-5 years' relevant planning experience.
·Experience working within the UK planning system.
·A good understanding of the planning application process.
·Experience preparing planning statements and/or planning submissions.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.
·The ability to manage your own workload and work to deadlines.
·A commercially minded and proactive approach.
·Confidence communicating with clients and planning officers.
·A genuine interest in planning and the development process.
RTPI membership or working towards chartership would be advantageous, although applications from strong candidates with relevant experience will be considered.

You'll be joining a dynamic, growing practice where you can work across a broad range of sectors and projects rather than being restricted to one particular area of planning.
The team prides itself on providing personal, proactive and commercially focused advice, giving you the opportunity to build meaningful client relationships and see projects develop from initial site appraisals through to applications and beyond.

For the right person, there is plenty of scope to develop professionally, take ownership of projects and progress your career within a growing consultancy.

If you're a Town Planner with a few years of experience and are looking for a role where you can take the next step in your career, we'd love to hear from you.
