I'm currently working with a well-established and highly regarded residential developer who is looking to appoint a Town Planner to join their growing team based in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who wants to play a key role in delivering high-quality housing schemes across the region.



The Role

As a Town Planner, you'll support the land and planning function in identifying, promoting, and securing residential development opportunities. You'll be involved throughout the planning lifecycle, from early-stage site assessments through to securing planning permissions.



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and manage planning applications and appeals
  • Conduct site appraisals and assess planning risks/opportunities
  • Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Support strategic land promotion and Local Plan representations
  • Monitor planning policy changes and advise the wider business
  • Assist in negotiating Section 106 agreements


About You

  • Degree qualified in Town Planning or a related discipline
  • Working towards or already MRTPI qualified (desirable)
  • Previous experience within residential development, consultancy, or local authority
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
