The Role
As a Town Planner, you'll be involved in managing planning projects from initial appraisal through to securing planning permission, providing expert advice to a broad client base.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals and supporting documentation.
- Providing strategic planning advice to private and public sector clients.
- Undertaking site appraisals and planning due diligence.
- Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and key stakeholders.
- Preparing planning statements and representations.
- Monitoring changes in planning legislation and local planning policy.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients while delivering a high standard of professional service.
About You
To be considered, you'll ideally have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- MRTPI status or be working towards chartership.
- Previous experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or developer.
- A sound understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- A proactive and client-focused approach.
