Track Inspector (Rail)

Location: Cricklewood Depot, London

Contract Type: 6 month renewable

Currently seeking an experienced Switches & Crossings (S&C) Inspector for a long-term contract opportunity based at Cricklewood Depot. This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Permanent Way professional with current 053 and 054 inspection competencies to join a well-established rail maintenance operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed 053 Switch Inspections on S&C assets.
• Carry out 054 Cast Crossing Inspections and identify defects, wear and deterioration.
• Identify and report safety-critical defects and derailment risks.
• Complete inspection reports and associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensure all inspections are completed in accordance with Network Rail standards and maintenance requirements.
• Liaise with engineers, track teams and management regarding inspection findings and remedial works.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, asset performance and compliance.

Essential Requirements

• Current 053 Detailed Switch Inspection Competency.
• Current 054 Cast Crossing Inspection Competency.
• Valid PTS.
• Experience carrying out inspections on Network Rail infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of Permanent Way and S&C assets.
• Ability to identify and assess track defects and asset condition.
• Good reporting and communication skills.

Desirable

• Previous experience working as an S&C Inspector, Track Inspector, Permanent Way Inspector or Track Section Supervisor.
• Additional track inspection competencies.
• Experience working within a depot or maintenance environment.
