Trade Counter Supervisor - Plumbing & Heating Merchant

Are you an experienced Trade Counter Supervisor, Trade Counter Sales Advisor or Plumbing Merchant professional looking for your next opportunity?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established plumbing, heating, kitchen and bathroom supplier for a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Supervisor to join their busy team in Stalybridge.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected local business where you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while helping to develop and grow the trade counter.



The Role

As Trade Counter Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the trade counter, supporting both trade and retail customers, maintaining stock and helping to drive sales.

This is a varied role where no two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service to trade and retail customers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing trade account customers.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new trade business.
  • Process customer orders accurately using the point of sale (POS) system.
  • Advise customers on plumbing and heating products.
  • Maintain stock levels and ensure the trade counter is clean, organised and well presented.
  • Assist with goods in, stock control and deliveries.
  • Support colleagues across the business to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Help achieve trade counter sales targets and contribute to business growth.


About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working on a trade counter within a plumbing merchant, builders merchant or similar trade environment.
  • Good knowledge of plumbing products and parts.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach and positive work ethic.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
