Role: Trainee Accountant
Location: Bexhill, East Sussex
Hours: Full-time
Pay: £24,700 per annum
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Accountant to join one of our longstanding clients, an established and growing accountancy practice, based in Bexhill.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or A Level leaver looking to begin a professional career in accountancy. You will support experienced Managers and Partners across a varied portfolio of clients while studying towards an AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification, depending on your chosen training pathway.

The Requirements:
- Minimum 2:1 degree or higher for candidates applying for the ACA or ACCA training pathway
- A Levels at A*, A or B, or equivalent Distinction*, Distinction or Merit grades in relevant subjects, for candidates applying for the AAT pathway
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisation with the ability to work accurately to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong logical problem-solving skills
- Good team-working skills
- Confident using IT and digital systems
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Flexible, positive and responsive approach
- High level of integrity and professional ethics
- Enthusiasm for developing a long-term career within accountancy
The Role:
- Support Managers and Partners with the preparation of statutory financial statements
- Work across accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Assist with personal, partnership and corporation tax returns
- Provide bookkeeping support and accurately record financial transactions
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
- Complete control account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Carry out bank reconciliations
- Draft professional client correspondence, including emails and covering letters
- Support account submissions to HMRC and Companies House
- Assist with filing statutory and client account documentation
- Maintain accurate records of client communications across internal systems
- Use systems including IRIS and Outlook
- Accurately record time spent on client activities
- Maintain confidentiality and data security when handling sensitive information
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation and professional requirements
- Provide general administrative support where required
