Connect Appointments is recruiting a Trainee Cheesemaker to join an established dairy manufacturing business based in Gifford.
This isn't a standard production role. You'll receive structured training across all key cheesemaking processes: from milk handling and pasteurisation through to culturing, coagulation, curd handling and maturation - progressing towards independent working as your competence develops.

- 4-on 4-off night shift, 10pm to 6am
- £16.82 per hour - paid weekly

As a Trainee Cheesemaker, your duties will include:
- Assisting in the manufacture of cheese and dairy products in accordance with approved recipes and specifications
- Monitoring key process parameters including temperature, time and pH, reporting any deviations promptly
- Operating production and packing equipment safely in line with Standard Operating Procedures
- Completing production and cleaning records accurately to support traceability and BRCGS compliance
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene in line with HACCP, allergen control and hygiene zoning requirements
To be considered as a Trainee Cheesemaker, you will need:
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate - ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is advantageous
- A genuine interest in developing a career in dairy and cheesemaking
- A reliable, detail-focused approach with strong communication skills
