Job Description
Job Title: Trainee Quantity Surveyor – Electrical Connections and Utilities
Location: Livingston
Employment Type: Permanent.
Glenelly Infrastructure solutions have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our Power & Civils Distribution business based in Scotland. The role would be based in our Livingston office, working alongside an established team.
Key Responsibilities
Role and Requirements: The Trainee Quantity Surveyor will have some experience of:
· Working alongside or as part of a Commercial Team with a good understanding of commercial processes
· Develop a partnership and collaborative working relationship with the Client’s commercial team
· A background in a relevant industry – construction, utilities, or Civil Engineering – and some knowledge of NEC contracts
· Develop project cost models through liaison with Project Managers and in conjunction with the contract Framework agreement
· Liaise with Client representatives to resolve payment disputes and minimise the value of outstanding revenue due to Glenelly
· Monitor outstanding revenue and take steps to avoid this becoming overdue
· Ensure Payment Applications are submitted timely on completion of projects
· Work with the Project Manager to ensure the overall financial success of the framework.
· You should have strong Excel and Database management experience and well as good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
· Experience in civils / utilities projects or a history of working within frameworks and DNO projects would be of specific interest.
