We have a unique opportunity for a trainee recruitment consultant to join our established team in our Plymouth office where we have been providing workers to the construction industry in Devon and Cornwall for over 20 years.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic and be willing to learn. No specific previous recruitment experience is required;

As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, you will receive full training and ongoing support to develop the skills needed to manage the recruitment process within the construction industry. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in recruitment with clear progression opportunities.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Learning how to manage and develop client relationships
  • Supporting senior consultants with live vacancies and client requirements
  • Advertising vacancies across multiple job boards and social media platforms
  • Sourcing, screening and interviewing candidates
  • Making outbound calls to candidates to check availability and suitability
  • Learning how to take job briefs and match candidates to roles
  • Managing candidate availability and bookings for temporary assignments
  • Carrying out candidate registrations, including compliance, references and qualification checks
  • Maintaining accurate records on the internal database
  • Providing a high level of service to both clients and candidates

We offer ongoing training & development with a structured training program to prepare you for genuine career advancement and the opportunity to develop within a sales recruitment consultant role. This will include office based phone sales recruitment and field based work. Having completed your training you will be allocated your own sales desk to canvass for new business opportunities and manage existing clients.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A positive, confident and motivated attitude
  • Strong communication skills and a good telephone manner
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced environment
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using systems
  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, administration or construction would be beneficial but is not essential
  • Full clean driving licence preferred

Full time hours (Monday to Thursday 8am - 5.30pm, Friday 5pm). No weekends.

Salary negotiable dependant on experience
