Trainee Site Manager

Permanent | Full Time

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 + Travel Allowance

Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:30am – 4:30pm

Location: Head Office – Rainham | Mainly Site-Based across London.

Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for a Trainee Site Manager to join an established construction and refurbishment business, offering a structured route into site management and long-term career progression.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with some construction, refurbishment, building maintenance or site experience who is looking to develop into a Site Manager. You will spend your first 18 months–2 years working alongside an experienced Senior Site Manager, learning how construction and refurbishment projects are planned, coordinated and delivered. As you develop, you will gradually take on more responsibility and begin to undertake duties associated with an Assistant Site Manager / Site Manager.

Projects can include:

• Building refurbishment and renovation
• MEP strip-outs
• Building maintenance
• Extensions and alterations
• New build projects
• Basic civils and external works
• Short and long-term refurbishment projects

You will work across a variety of sectors, including airports, museums, hospitals and schools. The role will give you exposure to the day-to-day running of construction sites, including subcontractor coordination, site standards, health & safety, programme management and project delivery.

Training & Development

 You will receive structured training and development throughout the role, which can include:

• SSSTS
• First Aid
• CSCS-related training and qualifications
• IOSH Managing Safely
• Further construction and site management training as you progress

About You

 We are open-minded about your background and welcome candidates who have worked as Labourers, Skilled Labourers, Construction Operatives, Site Operatives, or Refurbishment Operatives, especially those looking to take the next step in their career. We are also highly open to individuals with limited construction experience who can demonstrate the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in progressing within construction and site management. To excel in this role, you should be practical, organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a site-based environment; please note that you must hold a valid CSCS card before starting the position.
