We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Trainee Sprinkler Design Engineer to join our growing Projects team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in fire protection engineering, gaining hands-on experience in sprinkler system design, hydraulic calculations, CAD software, and project delivery.

You will work alongside experienced engineers, receiving structured training and industry-recognised certifications while contributing to the design of life safety systems for commercial and residential developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of commercial and residential fire sprinkler systems, including wet, dry, and high-pressure water mist systems.
  • Support the production of detailed layout drawings, 3D models, and hydraulic calculations using AutoCAD, Revit, and other design software.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant fire protection standards, including BS 9251 and BS EN 12845.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to ensure design accuracy and project deadlines are achieved.
  • Assist senior engineers with pipe routing, equipment positioning, and schematic design development.
  • Attend site visits to understand installation requirements and assess design feasibility.
  • Maintain project documentation and support the management of design programmes and deliverables.
  • Achieve BS 9251 certification within six months and BS EN 12845 certification within twelve months.
