Trainee Stock Controller

Saint Gobain

Trainee Stock Controller

Chorley|Monday to Friday | 8:00am to 5:00pm (1-hour lunch break) | Site Based

At Pasquill, we're looking for a Trainee Stock Controller to join our team in Chorley.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys being organised, solving problems and working with people across a busy manufacturing site. Whether you've worked in stock control, logistics, warehouse administration or another operational support role, this position offers the chance to build your skills and develop a long-term career within a key part of our business.

You'll work closely with our experienced Stock Controller, learning how materials move through the site, helping to maintain accurate stock records and ensuring our production teams have the materials they need when they need them. This isn't a role where you'll spend all day behind a desk. You'll be out on site, working with different teams, investigating issues and becoming a trusted part of the operation.

Pasquill is part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, the global leader in light and sustainable construction. We design and manufacture timber engineering solutions that help build homes, schools and commercial buildings across the UK, and we're proud of the role we play in creating better spaces for people to live and work.

What we're looking for

We're not looking for someone who knows everything about stock control already. We're looking for someone who is keen to learn and takes pride in getting things right.

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.
  • Confidence using computer systems and spreadsheets.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues across the site.
  • A curious mindset and the confidence to ask questions and investigate issues.
  • A positive attitude and a genuine desire to develop your skills and take on more responsibility.

What you'll be doing

No two days are exactly the same, but you'll spend most of your time:

  • Maintaining accurate stock records and updating stock movements within our systems.
  • Supporting stock checks and cycle counts across the site.
  • Investigating stock discrepancies and helping identify the root cause of issues.
  • Working closely with Production, Logistics, Purchasing and Planning teams to support material availability.
  • Developing your knowledge and capability with the aim of becoming a reliable cover for the Stock Controller role.

Why join Pasquill?

This role gives you the opportunity to learn a specialist function that sits at the heart of our operation. You'll receive support, training and exposure to different areas of the business while building valuable skills in stock management, logistics and manufacturing operations.

If you're someone who enjoys getting into the detail, likes solving problems and wants a role where you can genuinely develop and progress, we'd love to hear from you.

Are Pasquill and Saint-Gobain inclusive employers?

We understand that a diverse workplace is not only a more enjoyable place to be, but also facilitates better decision making and innovation. So, whoever you are, and whichever Saint-Gobain business you join, you can be sure of a warm welcome with us.

And what about flexibility?

At Saint-Gobain, we're always open to new ways of working. Everyone has different needs and commitments. We'll happily discuss any need you might have for this role. Whilst this position is site-based, we do promise to listen and consider requests wherever possible.

If you match our criteria, we will be in touch to discuss your experience and learn more about you as a person. We look forward to hearing from you!
