Overview

Are you eager to kickstart a career in electrical manufacturing? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Wireperson to join our growing production team in Chew Magna, Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop specialist skills in a supportive and professional environment. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

As a Trainee Wireperson, you will work alongside experienced professionals and be trained to:

  • Assemble electrical control panels and components.
  • Wire control panels using engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Prepare, strip, crimp, and terminate cables.
  • Fit electrical components and sub-assemblies.
  • Conduct basic electrical testing and quality inspections.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools and assembly equipment.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and housekeeping.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures at all times.
Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • A genuine interest in electrical or electronic assembly.
  • Strong practical skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, or a technical subject (advantageous but not essential).
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or workshop environments is beneficial but not required.
Day-to-Day

Your typical day will involve:

  • Learning and applying wiring techniques under the guidance of experienced team members.
  • Assembling and testing electrical components to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Continuously improving your skills and knowledge in electrical manufacturing.
