Location: East London
Salary: £39,319 - £45,052 per annum, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical professional with training, coaching and/or assessment experience to support apprentices in developing their skills and achieving successful outcomes.

The Role

As a Trainer Coach - Electrical, you will be responsible for delivering, assessing and developing apprenticeship training, while supporting apprentices throughout their programme.

The role involves a combination of workplace visits, learner assessments, progress reviews, coaching and campus-based workshops. You will work closely with apprentices and employers to ensure learners remain on track and are fully prepared for their End Point Assessment.

Main Responsibilities

• Assess Level 3 Electrical Installation apprentices in their workplaces.
• Carry out workplace observations, progress reviews and portfolio workshops.
• Coach apprentices in line with apprenticeship standards, core skills and work-related training.
• Visit and actively support apprentices within their workplace.
• Support the planning, development and delivery of apprenticeship training.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, schemes of work and learning resources, including online materials.
• Support curriculum development for relevant apprenticeship standards.
• Complete and maintain accurate assessment records, progress reports and learner documentation.
• Prepare and support apprentices for their End Point Assessment.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with employers.
• Identify opportunities to develop strong employer relationships and support repeat business.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification.
• Appropriate assessor qualification and experience assessing Level 3 Electrical Installation.
• Level 2 English and Maths.
• Strong knowledge of the Level 3 Electrical Installation and Maintenance Apprenticeship Standard.
• Previous experience of teaching, training, coaching or assessing apprentices.
• Relevant electrical industry experience and technical expertise.
• Experience working within a training provider, college or apprenticeship environment.
• Good IT and administration skills, with the ability to maintain accurate learner records.
• Full UK driving licence, as the role requires regular visits to apprentice workplaces.

Desirable

• A recognised teaching or training qualification.
• Experience working directly with employers and developing employer relationships.
• Experience preparing apprentices for End Point Assessment.
