Financial Planning Operations Trainer | South of England | £55k (c) | Hybrid, 2/3 days on site including travel to various offices.
If you’ve built your career in paraplanning or financial planning support, and you’re the person colleagues turn to when they’re stuck on a process or a system, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
ReQuire Consultancy are working with a highly regarded, independently owned financial planning and wealth management firm to recruit a Financial Planning Operations Trainer to join their growing Financial Planning Training Team.
This is a genuine step up and out of day-to-day casework. As the firm continues to grow, including through acquisitions across a rapidly consolidating wealth sector, this team makes sure every adviser, paraplanner and administrator, whether new or joining through an acquisition, works to the same high standard. It’s visible, valued work that sits right at the heart of the firm’s growth plans.
But what really makes this opportunity stand out is the culture you’ll be joining.
This is a people-first business that has been recognised as one of the best places to work in its sector. They work hard, but they have a lot of fun along the way, and they genuinely want everyone who works there to be proud of what they do.
Industry Experience First, Training Background Second:
This role needs someone who has lived the financial planning process day to day. It isn’t suited to a trainer from another sector.
You don’t need a formal training background. The firm values practical, hands-on operational knowledge above everything else.
You’ll use what you already know about suitability, adviser support and compliance workflows to help others get it right first time.
For an experienced paraplanner or planning administrator who enjoys helping people learn, it’s a rare chance to build a new career path without leaving the industry.
The Role
You’ll be onboarding, training and upskilling advisers, paraplanners and support staff across the business, helping them master the firm’s financial planning systems and compliance processes.
Your responsibilities will include:
Delivering onboarding for new starters and refresher training for existing colleagues
Supporting the integration of teams joining the firm through acquisition, including discovery visits to understand how they currently work
Delivering process and system training one-to-one and in groups, both face-to-face and remotely
Acting as super user and trainer on the firm’s core back-office and planning systems
Identifying knowledge and skills gaps, and designing training to close them
Documenting standard operating procedures for core financial planning processes, working with the Advice Quality team
Creating and maintaining training content within the firm’s Learning Management System
Assessing competence after training and giving constructive feedback
Keeping training records accurate and up to date
Responding to new training needs arising from system changes, new products, regulatory updates and further acquisitions
About You:
We’re looking for an experienced financial planning professional with 3+ years in a paraplanning, planning support or planning administration role. A strong understanding of the advice process, suitability reporting and client servicing is essential.
You’ll also bring:
Experience as the go-to person in your team for systems and processes, or in mentoring colleagues
Strong familiarity with platforms such as Curo, Intelligent Office or Salesforce
Patience, and the ability to explain things clearly without jargon
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships
The confidence to take ownership and work autonomously
Good Microsoft Office skills
A willingness to travel regularly between the firm’s southern offices
DipFA/DipPFS (Level 4), LMS experience or previous training delivery would all be useful, but practical operational experience is the priority.
The Package:
Alongside the chance to build a new career path, there’s a lot to like about the way this firm looks after its people.
You’ll receive:
£55,000 (c) salary, DOE
Hybrid working, with 2/3 days a week based from one of the firm’s southern offices and the rest from home
A genuinely open approach to flexible working, so if you’re looking for a different pattern, we may be able to accommodate it
33 days’ holiday
Study assistance to support your professional qualifications
Pension, life assurance and income protection
Access to flexible benefits
A warm, supportive and award-winning culture
This is an opportunity to step away from casework and into a role where your experience is the qualification, your knowledge shapes how a growing firm works, and there’s genuine room to grow as the business does.
For a paraplanner or financial planning support professional who loves helping others succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
