This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive transport professional to join a busy transport operation, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of deliveries, collections, driver administration and customer communications across the UK and Europe.

  • Location: BD12
  • Hours: 9:00- 5:30pm
  • Salary on offer: Between £30,000 - £34,000 DOE!

As Transport Administrator, you will provide comprehensive administration support to the Transport and Planning teams, ensuring deliveries and collections are accurately processed while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

You'll act as a key point of contact for drivers, customers and internal departments, helping to keep operations running efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing transport administration and daily operational paperwork
  • Updating transport, trailer and fleet tracking spreadsheets
  • Processing delivery documentation, PODs and collection notes
  • Booking deliveries and collections via phone and email
  • Liaising with customers regarding delivery schedules and delays
  • Supporting drivers and processing transport documentation at the traffic window
  • Communicating with UK and international drivers
  • Assisting with second-run planning and transport scheduling
  • Supporting planning activities during periods of holiday or absence
  • Maintaining driver files, agency driver records and compliance documentation
  • Reviewing vehicle defect reports and escalating maintenance requirements
  • Processing freight and parcel consignments
  • Providing operational support across warehouse and transport functions when required
  • Producing transport reports and analysing operational data, including fuel usage
  • Working closely with the Transport Manager to support continuous improvement initiatives


What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Previous experience working as a Transport Administrator
  • Experience within the road freight, logistics or transport sector
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively under pressure
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network
  • Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach
