Transport Clerk – Night Shift

We are recruiting for a Transport Clerk to join a busy and well-established distribution operation in Tamworth on a temp-to-permanent basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with transport, logistics or strong administration experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment.

Working as part of the night transport team, you will help ensure drivers, deliveries, transport systems and documentation are managed accurately throughout the shift.

The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the night transport operation
• Processing driver paperwork and transport documentation
• Liaising with drivers, warehouse teams and internal departments
• Monitoring deliveries and updating transport systems
• Handling driver and depot queries
• Completing transport administration and accurate data entry
• Producing reports and maintaining operational records
• Assisting with route changes and resolving operational issues
• Ensuring paperwork is completed accurately and within required timescales
• Supporting the wider transport team to achieve daily operational targets

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone organised, reliable and confident working in a busy environment.

Previous experience within a transport office, logistics, distribution or administration environment would be advantageous, although candidates with strong transferable administrative experience will also be considered.

You will need:

• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Confident communication skills
• Good Microsoft Office and general IT skills
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure
• A proactive and dependable approach
• Flexibility to work permanent night shifts

Hours

Sunday to Thursday, 9:00pm–6:00am.

This is a permanent night-shift pattern, so applicants must be comfortable working these hours on an ongoing basis.

Salary & Benefits

£29,500 basic salary plus a £26 per week unsociable hours allowance, giving total annual earnings of £30,852.

The position is initially offered on a temp-to-permanent basis with an immediate start available.
