Job Description for the Transport Coordinator role: 
  • Planning delivery routes and coordinating the transportation of goods.
  • Booking deliveries with customers and coordinating suitable delivery times.
  • Ensuring shipments are arranged in the most cost-effective and efficient way.
  • Communicating delivery schedules and updates to customers.
  • Managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Preparing delivery notes and relevant documentation for drivers.
  • Liaising closely with Production and Customer Service teams to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Obtaining quotes for overseas deliveries and coordinating shipments once goods are manufactured.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date delivery logs and ensuring all data is recorded correctly.
  • Monitoring KPIs and supporting despatch analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
 Candidate Requirements for the Transport Coordinator role: 
  • Previous coordination experience is essential; transport experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Good geographical knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Confident using IT systems, with good working knowledge of Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Strong administrative and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively.
  • Adaptable and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated, proactive and confident using own initiative.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a small team.
This role would suit candidates with the following experience: Transport Planner, Transport Coordinator, Logistics Planner, Haulage Planner, Fleet Planner, Traffic Planner, Transport Administrator
 
This role is commutable from: Stoke on Trent, Stone, Trentham, Fenton, Longton, Leek, Cheadle, Newcastle under Lyme, Keele, Eccleshall,  
 
Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Salary: £30,000 Per Annum
