Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transport activities using the Transport Management System (TMS) to ensure on‑time delivery and collection.
- Liaise closely with hauliers, suppliers, production and internal stakeholders to ensure materials are in the right place at the right time.
- Ensure all carriers operate in line with health & safety, load security, time slot management and site procedures.
- Monitor transport performance against key KPIs including cost, OTIF, milestone adherence and incidents.
- Maintain accurate transport and freight data, producing routine reports and dashboards.
- Support transport procurement activities and monitor market trends, risks and compliance requirements.
- Identify and support continuous improvement and cost‑saving initiatives within the transport network.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all drivers and third‑party providers follow site H&S induction requirements.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transport planning or transport coordination role.
- Proven experience coordinating day‑to‑day transport operations within a fast‑paced environment.
- Good working knowledge of Transport Management Systems (TMS) (e.g. SAP TMS, Aptean, Paragon Routing & Scheduling, Transporeon, 3t).
- Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance within transport and logistics operations.
- Demonstrable understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma).
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing high volumes of work.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with hauliers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Competent user of Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
- Confident use of email and intranet systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
- CIPS, APICS or equivalent supply chain qualification.
- ISOH / NEBOSH qualification.
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Turkish language skills (desirable but not essential).
- Proactive and solutions‑focused.
- Data‑driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Able to influence and encourage others to achieve shared objectives.
- Resilient and adaptable in a changing operational environment.
