Transport Coordinator - Nights in Warrington, Cheshire

Are you an experienced transport professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can keep operations running smoothly throughout the night?

We are looking for a Night Transport Coordinator to join our transport team and take responsibility for coordinating our night-time transport operation. Reporting to the Transport Office Manager, you will coordinate drivers, vehicles, deliveries and collections throughout the night, ensuring operations are safe, efficient and delivered to schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate and monitor vehicle movements throughout the night shift

• Allocate work to the driving team

• Track deliveries and collections, ensuring schedules and service level agreements are met

• Communicate effectively with drivers, customers and operational teams

• Respond proactively to delays, breakdowns, accidents and other operational issues

• Monitor driver hours, Working Time Directive requirements and tachograph compliance

• Ensure all transport documentation is completed accurately and maintained

• Update transport management systems and maintain accurate records

• Produce shift reports and detailed handovers for the day operations team

• Investigate and resolve customer service issues relating to transport activity

• Ensure compliance with health and safety, fleet and transport legislation

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to maximise fleet utilisation and operational efficiency

Key Experience / Skills:

• Strong organisational and planning skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• Good attention to detail

• The ability to remain calm under pressure

• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and transport management systems

• Knowledge of driver hours regulations and transport compliance requirements

• A proactive and results-focused approach

• A strong customer-service mindset

• The flexibility to respond to changing operational demands

• A professional attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
