Abatec is recruiting for a Transport Manager to join a well-established and growing logistics operation based in Highbridge.

Our client are an independent, privately owned supplier of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), tools, consumables, first aid, and traffic management products. With a nationwide distribution network, regional warehouses, and a modern logistics operation, we provide reliable service and fast delivery to customers across the UK.

Monday to Friday

07.30 - 17.30

Permanent Role

£35,000 - £38,000

Key Duties:

· Manage the day-to-day operation of the transport department.

· Ensure full compliance with DVSA, Operator Licence, and transport legislation.

· Lead, motivate, and support drivers and transport office staff.

· Plan and optimise vehicle routes and resource allocation.

· Monitor fleet utilisation, driver performance, and transport KPIs.

· Oversee driver hours, tachograph compliance, and Working Time Directive regulations.

· Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules with the workshop to maximise fleet availability.

· Ensure high levels of customer service through efficient and timely deliveries.

· Investigate incidents, implement corrective actions, and promote a strong health and safety culture.

· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
