Transport Manager

Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £41,000 - £46,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join a busy and growing transport operation in Milton Keynes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced transport professional looking to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a transport function, leading a team and ensuring high standards of compliance, safety and operational performance.

• Oversee the day-to-day transport and logistics operation

• Manage, lead and motivate the transport team

• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, company procedures and safety standards

• Manage customer relationships and service levels

• Plan and coordinate routes and vehicle utilisation

• Monitor operational performance and identify areas for improvement

• Produce and review transport and performance reports

• Support the development of efficient and cost-effective transport processes

• Ensure vehicles, drivers and transport activities remain compliant

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Transport Manager or senior transport/logistics role

• A strong understanding of transport operations and compliance

• Level 3 Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Transport Management

• Strong leadership and people-management skills

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Good attention to detail

• The ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment

• A proactive approach to improving operational performance

Approximately 2 year's transport management experience is preferred, although relevant experience and capability will be considered.
