Transport Planner in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

An established passenger transport operation is looking for a Transport Planner to oversee the day-to-day scheduling of a 15-coach fleet serving school transport, holidays, day trips and private hire work.

This is a fast-paced and varied role where you'll be responsible for ensuring vehicles and drivers are utilised efficiently while maintaining excellent service levels. If you're organised, proactive and enjoy solving operational challenges, this could be the role for you.

• Plan and coordinate daily driver and vehicle schedules
• Manage transport operations across school contracts, excursions, holidays and private hire bookings
• React quickly to schedule changes and operational requirements
• Ensure compliance with driver hours and transport regulations
• Liaise with drivers, customers and suppliers to maintain smooth service delivery
• Maximise fleet utilisation and operational efficiency
• Support route planning and resource allocation
• Maintain accurate transport and scheduling records

• Previous experience as a Transport Planner, Scheduler or Traffic Planner
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment
• Good geographical knowledge and route planning ability
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Experience within coach, bus, passenger transport or logistics operations would be advantageous
