Job Title: Transport Planner

Location: Wardle, Nantwich

Hours: 08:30  17:00 | 5 Days On, 2 Days Off (Monday to Friday)

Position Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Role

We are seeking an organized and proactive Transport Planner to join our busy logistics operation. In this role, your primary focus will be coordinating, optimizing, and managing freight movements through a fast-paced pallet network system. You will ensure maximum vehicle utilization and on-time delivery while maintaining excellent service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Planning: Efficiently routing, booking, and managing daily palletized freight in alignment with network protocols and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Route Optimization: Maximizing vehicle and trailer utilization while keeping empty running to an absolute minimum.

• Driver & Depot Liaison: Maintaining constant, clear communication with drivers, sub-contractors, and hub networks regarding schedules, delays, or changing collection requirements.

• Problem Solving: Proactively resolving transit delays, delivery discrepancies, or capacity constraints in a fluid environment.

• Administration: Accurately inputting transport data, tracking delivery metrics, and updating traffic/warehouse management systems.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Previous experience within a busy transport planning or coordination role is highly preferred.

• Network Knowledge: Familiarity with UK pallet networks is a distinct advantage.

• Skills: Strong geographical knowledge of the UK, solid IT literacy, and the ability to adapt to proprietary transport management software.

• Attributes: A natural problem-solver with a calm head under pressure, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
