A growing and well-established Civil Engineering and Transport Planning consultancy is looking to appoint an ambitious Transport Planner to join its expanding team in Hampshire.

The consultancy works across a broad range of sectors, including residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use developments, providing transport planning solutions from initial feasibility through to planning and delivery.

The Role

As a Transport Planner, you will be involved in delivering a variety of transport planning commissions, working closely with senior consultants, clients, local authorities and wider project teams.

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of smaller to medium-sized projects while gaining valuable experience on larger and more complex developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and delivering transport planning projects from inception through to completion.
• Preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Technical Notes and Access Appraisals.
• Undertaking trip generation and distribution assessments using recognised industry methodologies and software.
• Reviewing and preparing planning drawings, including access arrangements, visibility splays and vehicle tracking.
• Carrying out site visits and providing practical transport planning advice.
• Attending meetings with clients, consultants and Local Highway Authorities.
• Supporting consultation events and stakeholder engagement.
• Assisting with fee proposals and contributing to larger-scale projects.
• Building strong working relationships with clients, planners, architects and local authority representatives.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will be proactive, technically minded and keen to develop their career within a growing consultancy.

You should have:

• A degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject.
• 3+ years' experience working within a transport planning environment.
• A good understanding of relevant transport design guidance and local planning policy.
• Experience with AutoCAD, TRICS and transport modelling software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and time-management abilities.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• A genuine interest in professional development and progression towards membership of a relevant professional institution.
