Salary: £15.54 per hour
Hours: 10:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary – Long-Term Sickness Cover
Our client, based in Burton upon Trent, is seeking an organised and proactive Route Planner to join their team on a temporary basis to provide cover for a long-term sickness absence.
This role is ideal for a candidate with previous route planning experience who can effectively coordinate schedules, manage changing priorities, and support the smooth day-to-day running of transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and scheduling routes to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Liaising with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
- Monitoring daily operations and adjusting schedules as required.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating planning systems.
- Responding promptly to operational issues and finding effective solutions.
- Supporting the wider transport and logistics function with administrative duties.
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures and operational requirements.
- Previous route planning experience is preferred.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good IT skills and confidence using planning and scheduling systems.
- A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Experience within transport, logistics, or distribution would be advantageous.
- £15.54 per hour
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
- Full-time hours of 37.5 per week.
