The Role
As Transport Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day leadership of the transport operation, working closely with the management team to ensure it runs safely, efficiently and to the highest operational standards.
Key areas of focus include:
· Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing transport team
· Supervising day-to-day transport operations and driver performance
· Ensuring compliance with transport legislation, Health & Safety requirements and operational standards
· Supporting effective planning, scheduling and resource allocation
· Monitoring fleet and transport performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
· Driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement
· Delivering exceptional levels of customer service
· Supporting the management team with operational and commercial objectives
· Dealing proactively with operational issues and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken
· Creating a positive, professional and high-accountability team culture
· Supporting the development and implementation of improved processes and ways of working
· Taking increasing responsibility as your experience and capability develops

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Transport Supervisor who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop towards a future management position.
You will bring:
· Proven experience supervising or leading a transport operation
· Strong knowledge of transport operations and driver management
· A genuine passion for operational excellence and customer service
· Strong leadership and people-management skills
· The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of operational issues
· A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
· Good commercial awareness and an understanding of operational costs and performance
· Strong communication and organisational skills
· The ambition and desire to progress into a Transport Management role
A CPC Transport Manager qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right candidate. The business is particularly interested in individuals who have the experience, leadership capability and ambition to develop into a management position.
Experience with budgets, fleet performance, compliance or Health & Safety would also be beneficial, along with qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
