This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven logistics professional looking to take the next step in their career and play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day transport operation. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for coordinating transport activities, supporting operational efficiency and ensuring a consistently high level of service is delivered to customers.

Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day transport operation to ensure shipments and deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timeframes.
  • Liaise closely with hauliers, drivers, warehouse teams and internal departments to ensure the smooth movement of goods.
  • Allocate and coordinate transport requirements, ensuring resources are utilised effectively.
  • Monitor transport schedules and proactively address any delays, issues or operational challenges.
  • Use transport and logistics software to book, manage and track shipments.
  • Ensure transport activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements and relevant industry regulations.
  • Support the management of transport costs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and maintain cost effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support to the wider transport team, helping to maintain high operational standards.
  • Respond promptly to customer and internal enquiries, providing effective solutions and maintaining excellent communication throughout.
  • Identify opportunities to improve transport processes, efficiency and service levels.
  • Deliver a consistently high standard of customer service within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience within the logistics, transport or haulage industry, ideally within a supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of transport operations, planning and delivery processes.
  • Experience using transport management systems (TMS), logistics software or similar industry-specific systems.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with hauliers, drivers, customers and internal teams.
  • A proactive, positive and solutions-focused approach to work.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions when working under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on operational efficiency, compliance and customer service.
