Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, days)
Full UK driving licence is essential
 
ISQ Recruitment is working with a public services organisation in Norwich who are looking to recruit a Tree Watering Operative on a long ongoing basis with a view to secure a permanent role for the right candidate
You will play a vital role in supporting the establishment and long-term health of newly planted and existing trees across Norfolk.
You will ensure trees in parks, highways and public open spaces receive the essential irrigation and aftercare needed to thrive.
 
Monday to Thursday 07:30AM to 1530PM Friday 07:30AM to 15:00PM
Pay £13.37 Overtime: £26.74 per hour (after 37 hours)
 
Key Duties
  • Water newly planted and established trees using water bowsers and irrigation systems, Check, refill, adjust, and maintain tree watering bags.
  • Ensure trees receive appropriate levels of hydration based on seasonal requirements.
  • Carry out basic tree aftercare including weeding, mulching, and light formative pruning (where trained).
  • Inspect and maintain tree stakes, ties, and protective guards/cages, ensuring they are secure and undamaged.
  • Remove debris and maintain clean and safe working areas.
  • Escalate concerns to supervisors or arboriculturally officers as required.
  • Safely operate vehicles, including those towing water bowsers (subject to licence requirements).
  • Accurately complete daily work sheets.
About You
  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential), with the ability to tow equipment where required.
  • Good level of physical fitness and ability to undertake manual work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and safety conscious.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Predominantly outdoor work across public highways, parks, and other managed land, Exposure to varying weather conditions.
