TSA & Change Service Manager – M&A
Contract | Outside IR35 | 6 Months | Remote
Day rate: Competitive, dependent on experience
The Role
We're recruiting a TSA & Change Service Manager for a 6-month contract, engaged on an Outside IR35 basis, working primarily remotely. This role sits within the M&A landscape, and requires a candidate with direct M&A experience — specifically around Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) — this is essential, not preferred.
This is a fast-paced, high-autonomy role. We need someone with a genuinely outgoing, proactive character who can get stuck in from day one — no hand-holding, no lengthy onboarding ramp-up expected. You'll be managing sensitive cross-organisational relationships and service dependencies, so confidence, pace, and the ability to build trust quickly are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) across the M&A lifecycle, ensuring services are delivered, tracked, and exited in line with contractual timelines
- Act as the key point of contact between acquiring and divesting/acquired organisations for all TSA-related services and dependencies
- Manage TSA governance — tracking service scope, costs, SLAs, exit criteria, and escalations
- Lead and coordinate change management activity tied to TSA exit and service transition, ensuring business readiness
- Proactively identify risks, service gaps, and exit blockers before they impact critical path or continuity of service
- Drive stakeholder engagement and communications at pace across both organisations, without waiting to be directed
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (technology, operations, finance, HR) to support TSA service exit planning
- Manage vendor and third-party relationships where TSA services are outsourced or supported externally
- Report TSA status, risks, and exit progress to senior stakeholders and steering groups
- Support cutover planning and post-exit stabilisation for transitioned services
Essential Experience
- Proven track record as a TSA Manager / Change Service Manager within M&A environments
- Direct M&A experience is required, specifically managing Transitional Service Agreements (TSAs) — carve-out, merger integration, or divestiture context
- Strong understanding of TSA governance, service exit planning, and cross-organisational service dependencies
- Highly proactive, self-starting working style — genuinely comfortable operating with minimal direction
- Outgoing, confident communicator who can build trust and drive pace across two organisations simultaneously
- Solid grounding in change management and structured delivery methodologies
- Strong vendor and third-party management experience
- Comfortable managing sensitive, high-stakes stakeholder relationships during separation/integration periods
Desirable
- Exposure to HR, Finance, or Payroll services within a TSA or M&A context
- Experience working alongside Data or Finance transformation teams
- Prince2, APM, Change Management (e.g. Prosci), or equivalent certification
- Experience within regulated or complex multi-entity organisational environments
