Tube Laser Operator

Location: Poynton / Stockport
Salary: £16.02 - £17.49 per hour (DOE)
Shift: Sunday - Thursday | Nights | 10:00pm - 6:00am

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Tube Laser Operator to join their growing team in Poynton/Stockport.

Working within a busy steel processing environment, you'll be responsible for operating tube laser machinery, ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards while supporting efficient production output. • Operate tube laser machinery to cut steel accurately in line with cutting specifications.
• Safely operate 5-ton overhead gantry cranes using radio remote and pendant controls.
• Operate forklifts, side loaders, Combi lifts, and other mobile plant (where trained and authorised).
• Work to production schedules and instructions from the Foreman to achieve daily targets.
• Carry out pre-use inspections on lasers, cranes, machinery, and mobile plant.
• Complete production paperwork and stock checks accurately.
• Perform quality inspections using measuring equipment to ensure products meet specification.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and keep the work area clean and organised.
• Follow all Health & Safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe systems of work in accordance with ISO 45001:2018.
• Report machinery defects, accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.

• Previous experience operating tube laser machinery or similar CNC laser cutting equipment.
• Experience within a steel processing, manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
• Overhead crane and/or forklift experience would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of workplace Health & Safety procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to work from technical cutting specifications.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Competitive hourly rate of £16.02 - £17.49, depending on experience.
