Brainkind, the UK's leading neurological care and rehabilitation charity, is seeking an experienced Turnaround Manager to lead the transformation of one of our specialist neurological rehabilitation services in Milton Keynes.
This is far more than a Registered Manager role. We're looking for an experienced healthcare leader with a proven track record of improving underperforming services, driving cultural change and achieving positive CQC outcomes.

About the Service
This specialist neurological rehabilitation service supports adults living with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, stroke, complex neurological conditions, physical disabilities and complex nursing or behavioural needs.
The service has significant potential and we are investing in experienced leadership to drive lasting improvement.
The Role
Working alongside senior operational and clinical leaders, you will lead a comprehensive turnaround programme with the objective of achieving a GOOD CQC rating within 12 months.
You will oversee operational performance, governance, workforce engagement, compliance and service culture while embedding sustainable improvements for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall turnaround and service improvement programme.
- Drive the service towards a GOOD CQC rating.
- Develop a high-performing leadership team and positive culture.
- Strengthen operational leadership, governance and CQC compliance.
- Improve workforce engagement, retention and performance.
- Reduce agency reliance through effective workforce planning.
- Improve occupancy, financial performance and operational efficiency.
- Build strong relationships with CQC, commissioners, ICBs and NHS partners.
- Embed sustainable improvements that deliver long-term success.
About You
We're looking for a resilient, confident healthcare leader with experience of successfully improving regulated healthcare services.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience improving Requires Improvement or Inadequate services.
- Registered Manager, Interim Manager, Turnaround Manager or Peripatetic Manager experience.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, governance and compliance.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- A background within neurological rehabilitation, acquired brain injury, stroke or complex care.
- Experience delivering service improvement and cultural change.
- Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care or equivalent.
Desirable
- Neurorehabilitation experience and/or Nursing or Allied Health Professional background.
- Experience within specialist neurological or complex residential services.
- Budget management and Registered Manager experience.
