About the Role

We’re recruiting three experienced Tutors on behalf of a well-established adult education provider. This is a home-based role covering the South Yorkshire region, so you’ll need to live locally. You’ll deliver Adult Skills Fund (ASF) qualifications to adult learners, many of whom are looking to get back into work or upskill in their current role.

Delivery is a blend of virtual classroom sessions run from home and face-to-face cohort sessions at community venues across Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham and Doncaster. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

What You’ll Be Doing as a Tutor:

• Teaching, assessing and giving constructive feedback to adult learners on the following qualifications: Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools, Level 2 Certificate in Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values, and Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
• Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive cohort programmes both online and in local communities.
• Using your knowledge of South Yorkshire and its communities to tailor delivery and remove barriers to learning.
• Building positive relationships with learners from a wide range of backgrounds and providing individual support.
• Promoting and safeguarding learner welfare, and reporting concerns promptly.
• Working towards KPIs for engagement, retention, achievement, progression and learner satisfaction.
• Providing impartial information, advice and guidance on learning and career pathways.
• Building relationships with local partners, community groups, employers and support agencies.
• Signposting learners to wellbeing, counselling and financial support services.
• Keeping accurate learner records in line with quality, funding and compliance requirements.

What We’re Looking For in a Tutor:

• Teaching qualification at Level 3 or above
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Level 3 Assessor qualification
• Proven experience as a tutor with a track record of successful learner outcomes
• Experience working with adult learners, including those who are unemployed
• Experience supporting learners with SEND
• Experience teaching from Entry Level to Level 3
• Confidence with online learning platforms, ed-tech and learner information systems
• Strong communication, planning, organisation and IT skills
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
• Must be based in South Yorkshire
