About Our School
North Lakes Children's Services is a well-established local provider of residential care and education for boys aged 7-18. We improve the resilience, self-esteem and abilities of all the young people we work with.

Role Responsibilities
- Support the improvement of wellbeing, readiness for learning, resilience and behaviour management within Herdley Bank School
- Work with members of the education team to support young people's personal and academic development by removing barriers to learning
- Promote positive learning behaviour with young people
- Lead classes during PPA and absence cover
- Deliver an enrichment activity
- To support in lessons with academic understanding or pastoral, emotional or behavioural need
- Respond to immediate concerns, clarifying the situation
- Create and collate information relating to lessons and interventions delivered
- Assist in the preparation of information relevant to meetings about pupils
- Be an advocate for the ethos of Herdley Bank School
- Lead on intervention, which includes reading and phonics, reviewing progress made by young people
- Develop the role of Pupil Voice, liaising with the Senior Leadership Team about the Pupil Council
- Develop relationships with parents / carers, taking an active role in transitions and consultation visits
- Lead ELSA sessions and complete training with the local authority
Requirements
- Have a strong basic education, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, and sound IT skills
- Previous experience in a similar role, for example HLTA, Tutor or Unqualified Teacher
- Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEMH / autism within an educational setting
- Experience of behaviour management and techniques
- Committed to professional development and willing to learn

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Herdley Bank School.
